Shark A'cat

This one has been living with us for about 18 months, a rescue that somehow became ours. Her rescue name is Emerald, but that doesn't suit her, or my inability to use a name longer than one, maybe two syllables. I used to refer to her as 'the missus'. She would wait for the everlovin' to come home and then vocally explain to him that she had been waiting all day, and what could be more important than her, and all kinds of other nagging things, and he would tell her lots of lies and they would the snuggle up together, all happy like. They've always had a special relationship.

She has grown on me too, and recently I had to face the uncomfortable fact that I have fallen in love with her. To refer to her as 'the missus' is no longer appropriate, so she has a new name. Shark A'cat. Like her namesake she is an oft misunderstood, curious creature with a propensity to use her teeth to test. She glides around the loungeroom, silent and graceful, prone to attacking the unguarded limbs of unwary couch surfers. She holds grudges and believes it's her world and we're all just living in it. She loves company and will spend hours snuggled up and we are blessed to experience this.
