the honeymoon period of a new vegan.

I didn't really plan on going 100% vegan, I was aiming for 80% and failing miserably. In fact, I had realised that I was never going to be vegan and was ok with that. Then, we visited a few animal rescue places in the USA and found myself disgusted with humanity's treatment of ... well... everything.

I came back home, set a date for a week later, and on that day became a total vegan. It's been surprisingly easy, I haven't craved anything that I used to love and THAT has been a surprise beyond measure. Of course, it's early days and it may change in the future.

Of course, the other benefit of eating cruelty free is that my junk food is so much better for me. Potato chips with numbers for ingredients have been replaced potato chips with an ingredient list entirely consisting of potatoes, oil and salt. My chocolate tends towards organic with superfood rather than sugary fillings and is downright expensive. Tofu is the snack of choice. My one rule is; be prepared and don't get too hungry.
