erm, random braindump.

So I've been away. Doing stuff. Nothing too exciting.

OK. I WAS TRAVELING AROUND THE USA IN A VAN LIKE A HIPPY, STOP HASSLING ME.

It was wonderful. The scenery was superb, the national parks spectacular, the people polite and friendly. I was surprised at the general lack of crazy - TV had greatly misinformed me about the American populace. Or at least some of them. Who'da thunk it?

Also, it is like half a world away from Australia, and it takes soooo long to get there. Like 30 hours each way, it took for-evah *rolls eyes*

Yeah, I don't know why I wrote that last sentance as if I'm a spoiled teenager, either. But remind me to tell you sometime about my first month in the US of A. (Hopefully there will be a second one at some point - I'd love to see the south and hear some swampy, sexy blues music).

I also became a fully fledged vegan. Cold tofurkey. No animal products. Not ever. Not for any reason. Cruelty free food rolls onto my tongue and vegan puns roll just as easily off it. My body has adjusted quickly, but my brain is still catching up to this change. Be patient but I have no idea if things will return to what I've been referring to as 'normal'.

This blog post was meant to be about how I need to reread Cradle to Cradle. Because the everlovin' and I are a little lax on the things that matter - like, for instance, replacing burnt out light globes, and then somehow, I find myself hanging washing on the clothes horse with a miners head lamp strapped to my forehead just so I can see what I am doing in the dark, and it just gets me to thinking... that this is the kind of strategic use of resources that was mentioned in Cradle to Cradle and I really should reread that book.
