It is so beautiful down in pemberton but who can notice the view when going up the mountains is so painful and going downhill at speed so terrifying? The everlovin' has nicknamed me 'mad dog' but it's a tongue in cheek jab at my overly cautious attitude to riding up/down/over/close to or around anything.
I walk my bike up the mountain and the ride the brakes down (they'll need to be replaced after this little adventure). I only crapped myself a lot and have learned that a berm won't necessarily stop you from going bush, jumps can be fun when rolled up and over, tree roots are tricky, rocks are not to be trusted and when you're sweating that much, you won't even notice the rain. Despite all that it was fun, I didn't die (yet) and I will probably do it again.
This is how a professional does what I did today.
